125 Years of ºìÌÒÊÓƵ and 100 Years of Washington Law Review

As the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ celebrates its 125th Anniversary, our flagship student-run journal, , celebrates its 100th Anniversary. The most recent edition includes an article by ºìÌÒÊÓƵ professor Hugh Spitzer that examines the topics of all lead articles during the past century.

For its first 50 years, the journal focused on general topics of interest to practitioners, such as Washington law matters, business and tax law, and government regulation. Then, as the faculty and student editors turned Washington Law Review into a nationally recognized publication, there have been fewer topics of purely local interest. During the past half century, there has been a marked increase in lead articles dealing with issues of social justice, international and comparative law, the environment, Native American rights, constitutional law and criminal law.
