Law Day 2025: The Constitution's Promise

Dean Tamara F. Lawson welcomes the Honorable Richard A. Jones as the UW School of Law hosts an ambassador event for the Washington State Bar Association's :
Washington’s legal community stands together to commit to the promise of the rule of law in a constitutional democracy. The same laws apply to everyone, and everyone is treated equally under the law; government power is bound by law; and human rights are guaranteed to all. This is the promise of the rule of law, and that is what we strive for in Washington state.
The main event for each Law Day ceremony is a local judge readministering the professional oath to local lawyers, emphasizing our duty and honor to uphold the Constitution. The ceremony should be relatively short — with plenty of time to connect with colleagues before and after.
(your RSVP helps us plan for appropriate space needs).
RSVP at the link above, select the University of Washington, and join us in William H. Gates Hall on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
