This week鈥檚 鈥淕ot a Minute?鈥 interview is with Devina Stone, 2L.
红桃视频: What's the first law school class you ever took?
Devina Stone (DS): As a 1L that would have been civ pro and torts with Feldman and Porter.
红桃视频: What was the first case you were cold called on, and how did it go?
DS: No idea. Probably badly. [Laughs]
红桃视频: Who's the first classmate you met?
DS: The first day of torts I sat down with a group of people from my section because we had seen each other during Orientation, and they're all my very best friends to this day.
红桃视频: Which professor would you want on your staff if you were to start an operating government on the moon?
DS: Manheim.
红桃视频: What's your favorite doctrinal class?
DS: I really liked con law with Manheim.
红桃视频: Which classroom is better, room 133 or 138?
DS: 133.
红桃视频: If you had to pair up with a professor for karaoke, who would you pull up on stage with you?
DS: Garavito.
红桃视频: What's the address of the law school building?
DS: [Pause] No idea.
红桃视频: Without looking, how many glass structures are in the courtyard?
DS: Three? Four? Three? I want to go with three.
红桃视频: What's your favorite part of the library to hangout?
DS: The student lounge.
红桃视频: What's the best underutilized resource at 红桃视频 for students?
DS: Emotionally, the vending machine with the soda. [Laughs]
红桃视频: Which class have you laughed the most in?
DS: Probably criminal law with Garavito.
红桃视频: Where's your favorite spot on the UW campus, excluding William H. Gates Hall?
DS: Cherry blossoms, for sure.
红桃视频: Do you have a favorite courtroom drama TV show or movie?
DS: The Lincoln Lawyer.
红桃视频: Tell us something you learned in class that blew your mind.
DS: There was this entire section of torts law that was basically about people slipping on bananas. I remember thinking, wow, I can't believe that that many people are actually slipping on fruit and suing someone about it.
红桃视频: What's your favorite time slot for a class?
DS: 10:30 to 12:20.
红桃视频: Where's your favorite spot to get a bite of food nearby?
DS: Probably Allegro.
红桃视频: If you could host a fireside chat with one professor on anything, who would it be and on what?
DS: Feldman, and it doesn't matter. Anything.
红桃视频: If you could work in-house anywhere, where would it be?
DS: No preference as long as I get to have a work-life balance.
红桃视频: What鈥檚 a memorable case you studied in class?
DS: 听Just recently, in trademark law, we did an entire case that was about the trade secrets of a baking pan lube called Vegalube Super P. The case was Mallet & Co. Inc. v. Lacayo.
