Ramasastry Joins the World Justice Project’s Rule of Law Leadership Council

Professor Anita Ramasastry has accepted the (WJP) Board and Officers’ invitation to join their Rule of Law Leadership Council as a WJP ambassador.
The Leadership Council is a global advisory body created to advance the rule of law through cross-disciplinary, multi-sectoral leadership to counter the global rule of law trends that are heading in the wrong direction. The Council will convene virtually on a quarterly basis for briefings on rule of law developments and for consultation about WJP projects and initiatives. Council members can engage in specific WJP projects aligned with their interests and capacities.
In her letter to Ramasastry, WJP Executive Director Elizabeth Andersen said, “We invite you to join this body, to serve as a WJP ambassador, and to contribute your expertise, networks, voice and resources to this cause.” Ramasastry will be working with Leadership Council co-chairs Justice Beverley McLachlin, former Chief Justice of Canada, and Judy Perry Martinez, past president of the American Bar Association and currently of counsel at Simon, Peragine, Smith & Redfearn.
The World Justice Project engages advocates from across the globe and from diverse interests and disciplines to advance the rule of law through research and scholarship; the WJP Rule of Law Index; and engagement that includes a global network, strategic convenings and on-the-ground programs.
