ºìÌÒÊÓƵ community steps up big on Husky Giving Day
Each spring, Husky Giving Day provides opportunities to support programs and causes people are most passionate about — and this year, the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ community came out in force to do just that.
More than 80 donors raised over $41,000 that directly supports public interest at ºìÌÒÊÓƵ while creating scholarship opportunities for law students from underrepresented communities.
Over the course of 24 hours, Law Dawgs from across the globe unlocked three gift-matching opportunities — two Law Justice Scholarship challenges and one Public Interest Law Association challenge — while keeping the UW School of Law in the Top 20 units across the UW for participation in all areas of support.
The gift-matching opportunities were provided by some of the law school’s most generous alumni and supporters: The Honorable Bobbe J. Bridge, J.D. ’76, and Jonathan J. Bridge, J.D. ’76; Greg Gorder, J.D. ’85, and Val Gorder; and Kent Carlson, J.D. ’67, and Sandy Carlson, B.A. ’64.
In total, the University of Washington raised more than $2.7 million from more than 6,300 gifts.
