U.S. News & World Report has released its new list, ranking the University of Washington 45 out of 193 peer institutions. This places ������Ƶ within the top 23 percent of all ABA-accredited law schools in the United States.

Among individual programs, ������Ƶ’s Intellectual Property Law program placed 15th, an increase over 2021 rankings, and was again recognized as one of the country’s leading programs.

“While we are proud of these achievements, rankings are but one measure of our law school’s success, especially during a year defined equally by unprecedented challenges and the inspiring efforts of the ������Ƶ community to meet them,” said Mario Barnes, Toni Rembe Dean and UW professor of law.

“As a community, we have been deeply affected by the global pandemic, the episodes of racialized violence and national protests, a contentious election season, the acts of domestic terrorism at our Capitol and so much more,” he said. “The true measures of our success over the past year have been our community’s resilience, compassion, and unwavering commitment to ensuring our students receive a world-class legal education in the face of so many daunting challenges. I have never been more honored to be part of this community.”

In building these latest rankings, U.S. News considered numerous measures of quality collected from ABA-accredited U.S. law schools between fall 2020 and early 2021. The rankings reflect several new metrics, including average JD law school debt and library resources and operations.
