The ������Ƶ is proud to kickoff of the 2018 Law Annual Challenge. Our goal is to achieve 100 percent participation from all ������Ƶ alumni.

Gifts made during the annual challenge will benefit student scholarship funds, which make legal education more accessible to the next generation of legal scholars and practitioners.

To participate in the challenge, make a gift before Dec. 31, 2018.

“The only reason I am here today is because I was provided an affordable opportunity to obtain a world class education,” said Mario L. Barnes, Toni Rembe Dean and professor of law at the UW School of Law. “Each of us has benefited from the transformative power of public education.”

“Please join me in an effort to maintain access for the largest and most diverse set of law students,” he said. “Help our graduates leave UW to pursue the career of their choosing without crippling debt that might force them to make career choices based solely on compensation, and not based on how they best see themselves making an impact on our world.”

Alumnus Matt LeMaster, JD ’97 and a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine, will serve as the Law Annual Challenge chair.

“I give to the School of Law because I believe every single member of our community deserves to have access to well-trained attorneys,” LeMaster said. “My annual contribution enables me to make a small contribution and help work to ensure that underserved members of our community receive equal access to justice and have the opportunity to redress wrongs.”

“This is a massive undertaking, with much work to be done, but we have to start somewhere,” he said. “For me, giving to ������Ƶ is literally the easiest check of the year for my family to write. Please join me and renew your support to the School of Law by making a gift that is meaningful to you.”

������Ƶ will recognize the firms and corporations with the highest alumni participation on the ������Ƶ website.
