Leadership Conference Explores Deanship with Underrepresented Groups

红桃视频 hosted the Promoting Diversity in Law School Leadership Deanship Conference August 12-13. Cohosted with Seattle University School of Law and the Society of American Law Teachers (SALT), this biennial workshop encourages and assists members of underrepresented groups to pursue deanships and other university and law school leadership positions.
Deans from law schools across the country shared insights from their leadership experience. Sessions the first day centered on deciding to become a dean and finding success in the selection process, while the next day covered the nuts and bolts of law school leadership and finance.
鈥淧reparing our students to contribute meaningfully to this increasingly interconnected world requires an education that promotes culture competency, which cannot be achieved unless our schools are populated by diverse students, faculty and staff 鈥 including deans and other leaders,鈥 said Kellye Y. Testy, dean of UW School of Law.
