M.J. Curriculum Health Law
Students seeking a health law education in our M.J. program have the opportunity to draw on the resources of both the law school's large number of health law offerings and the University's strong health sciences educational programs, including the School of Public Health, the School of Pharmacy, the Department of Global Health and others.
Our Health Law curriculum for M.J. students provides specialized legal education in all facets of health law, including private health system organization, regulation of health care providers and researchers, medical negligence, patient rights, public health law, global health and social justice.
Sample Curriculum Options
M.J. students pursuing a specialty in Health Law will work with our M.J. and Health Law program personnel to tailor their curriculum to their specific interests. Below are some sample curricula that demonstrate the capacity to customize the student curriculum to their specific needs.
Foundational Courses: 12–14 credits
- LAW B 505ÌýÌý| Autumn Quarter | 5 Credits
- LAW B 550ÌýÌý| Autumn Quarter | 4-6 credits (6 credits with Summer Transnational Institute)
- LAW A 599ÌýÌý| Winter Quarter | 3 credits
- One independent major research paper (can be done through a seminar or through Independent Study credits)
